Veterans Enjoy Hero Status at WWII Heritage Days
PEACHTREE CITY, GA. (April 30, 2018) – A record crowd helped welcome about 60 World War II veterans to the 15th Annual World War II Heritage Days at the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing Warbird Museum in Peachtree City, Ga. Rare vintage aircraft, including the restored B-17 Flying Fortress, “Texas Raiders,” completed the WWII atmosphere for the veterans, especially for five who actually flew on the historic aircraft. (April 16, 2018, Enid, OK) - After 17 months of repairs, four fuel tank replacements, two AD Notes, airframe repairs and 15,000 hours of maintenance work, the A-26 Lady Liberty is again airworthy. She flew a test flight on April 15, 2018, which was successful and the aircraft operated great.

CAF's P-47 Thunderbolt Restoration Projec is Assigned to the Southern California Wing
Camarillo, California (March 26, 2018) -The P-47 was one of the most produced American World War II aircraft, with more than 15,000 built. It is an important aircraft in the CAF’s fleet, but this P-47 is no longer airworthy. SHUSTER ANNOUNCES END TO EFFORT TO PRIVATIZE AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL
Bill Shuster, Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced today that he will no longer pursue his effort to privatize U.S. air traffic control services.
“Although our air traffic control reform provisions did not reach the obvious level of support needed to pass Congress, I intend to work with Senator [John] Thune [Chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee] and move forward with a reauthorization bill to provide long-term stability for the FAA,” said Chairman Shuster in a written statement.
