ONLINE EVENT With its distinctive bubble canopy, exposed framework, and unmistakable sound, the Bell H-13 Sioux is one of aviation history’s most recognizable helicopters. Made famous by the television series M*A*S*H, this little helicopter played a much bigger role in real life, helping revolutionize battlefield medicine during the Korean War.

Join us as helicopter pilot Eric Kallio introduces us to the CAF's H-13 Sioux, affectionately known as Bayou Belle. Eric will share what makes this vintage helicopter unique, what it's like to fly an aircraft designed more than 75 years ago, and the challenges and rewards of keeping it in the air.

We'll also hear reactions from people who encounter Bayou Belle at airshows, from those who recognize it immediately to passengers experiencing their first helicopter ride. For many, it's more than an exciting flight. It's an opportunity to connect with a fascinating chapter of American aviation history.

Plus, learn how the CAF's Bayou State Escadrille is working to preserve Bayou Belle and keep this remarkable flying experience available for future generations.
