From adventure to hands-on technology and everything in-between, bring the family to Airbase Arizona Flying Museum Saturday May 14 from 10 am to 4 pm and be inspired! Special discounted admission is offered, $5 per person or $10 for a family of four with access to all ground exhibits and activities. Living history flights are purchased separately online -- go to www.azcaf.org.

This month's technology challenge features the Arizona Model Aviators Club, well-known for meticulously-built large scale radio-control models of military and commercial aircraft. The Arizona Model Aviators will conduct a special hands-on activity for kids from 11 am to 2 pm.

Overall activities for Family Fun Day include: • Kids Adventure Hunt -- geared for kids ages 6 to 12, a sheet of picture clues and hints take younger visitors on a mini-adventure to search for history and technology hidden in 'plane sight' on the main exhibit floor. Offered all day. • Aviation Technology Challenge -- hands-on activities for kids age 12 and under feature aircraft structure and model-building. Offered from 11 am to 2 pm. • Helicopter 'Hover' Simulator -- a challenge for ages 10 through adult, have a seat and control the cyclic to keep the helo in a hover! Offered all day. • Speaker -- Operation Chastise -- The Royal Air Force's attack on the dams of the Ruhr Valley to cripple Nazi Germany's industry during WWII. Offered at 1 pm. Additional features include several military aircraft covering over 100 years of history, special 'hidden history' tours, over a 30,000 square-feet exhibit floor filled with rare artifacts and historic accounts of persons who served their country in wartime.

Airbase Arizona Flying Museum, is a unit of the world-wide Commemorative Air Force, and has operated from Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona for over 44 years. A non-profit organization, the museum provides educational support to schools and universities, exhibits and speaker programs, national tour program and living history flights which are uniquely inspiring and educational experiences for young and old.
