WANT TO BE A CAF PILOT?

Are you looking for the opportunity to fly incredible historical aircraft? Do you want to help preserve and share the legacy of World War II while keeping history alive? Becoming a Commemorative Air Force (CAF) pilot offers you the chance not just to learn about history—but to live it.

The CAF is dedicated to education and preserving history through its many missions, including flying unique and rare aircraft. It’s a rare privilege to take the controls of these iconic machines. None of today’s active CAF pilots flew these aircraft during World War II; they all began with the same dream of flying these historic planes. With a bit of effort, that dream can become a reality.

The CAF is always looking for new aviators to step in as senior pilots retire or pursue other interests. Whether it’s a Hellcat, L-2, BT-13, T-6, B-25, B-17, or B-29, these aircraft need skilled and passionate pilots to keep them flying.

If you’re a qualified pilot with a love for history, a passion for education, and a longing to hear the roar of piston engines, apply to become a CAF pilot today.
