Message from the CAF President Hank Coates

Because you are among our most valued friends and supporters, Commemorative Air Force (CAF) wants to assure you that during these challenging times and amid mounting concern about the outbreak and spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), the health and well-being of our local, regional, national and international community remain our highest priority.

As with most things in the world today, our aircraft museums, aviation events, and educational programs are significantly impacted.

Many of our volunteers are in higher risk groups. For that reason, I’ve asked Commemorative Air Force (CAF) leadership to exercise caution, good hygiene and stay informed. In our organization each unit location and situation are different. So, there is no CAF-wide edict to have/or cancel events. Thus far, every choice and decision made at the local levels has been, in my opinion, conservative, appropriate and tailored to their needs and situation.

We are using this same approach at the National CAF Headquarters. Currently, we continue to operate as normal, but do have procedures and systems in place should that need to change. We are working with units and other entities to review public gatherings and events that are scheduled through 2020. We will work with everyone to review the future of events and will help coordinate, as needed, to communicate plans to our sponsors and guests.

For those who were planning to see our aircraft at an airshow, or have purchased rides on one of our aircraft, please contact the group that is operating the aircraft for additional information. Please, feel free to contact the National Headquarters should you need support, have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Hank Coates Commemorative Air Force President
