Commemorative Air Force Units Begin Announcing 2026 National Tour Stops
Dallas, TX (March 5, 2026) — Several aircraft operated by Units of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) have begun announcing their 2026 national tour schedules, bringing historic military aircraft to communities across the United States. These traveling exhibitions allow the public to experience aviation history firsthand through static displays, living history programs, and in some cases the rare opportunity to fly aboard vintage World War II aircraft.
Each year CAF aircraft travel thousands of miles to visit airports, aviation museums, airshows, and community events. These tours give visitors the chance to see historic aircraft up close while learning about the pilots, crews, and missions that shaped aviation and military history. Tour stops range from small fly-in events with aircraft on static display to large airshows attended by thousands of spectators. At many locations, visitors can also purchase rides in select aircraft, offering a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience the sights, sounds, and even the distinctive smell of historic radial engines in flight.
Several tours have already released preliminary schedules for 2026, including the Flying Legends of History Tour, the AirPower History Tour, and the CAF’s Rise Above educational outreach program. Additional aircraft and Unit tours are expected to be announced throughout the year. a2026_TourAdvertismentCopy
Due to the number of major commemorative events planned around Independence Day in 2026, many of this year’s tour stops will concentrate along the East Coast, positioning aircraft to participate in Fourth of July celebrations and aviation events tied to the broader America250 commemoration.
The CAF will also participate in several major aviation gatherings throughout the year, including Sun ‘n Fun Aerospace Expo, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and the Wings Over Houston Airshow, along with other community events across the country. 2026 CAF Tour Programs Currently Announced.
