CAF Aircraft Help US Air Force Celebrate 75th Birthday

JB Andrews (September 20, 2022) - Over the past weekend, several CAF aircraft flew to Washington D.C. to participate in the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Andrews Air and Space Expo. Among those aircraft were B-29 FIFI, C-47 That’s All, Brother, and L-26B Ike’s Bird. Along with the various aircraft, the Tora Bomb Squad also provided pyrotechnics for the airshow.

That’s All, Brother was the focal point of a static display about the 75-year history of the U.S. Air Force. The Department of the Air Force was established by the National Security Act of 1947 signed by President Truman. Under the Department of the Air Force, the U. S. Air Force was created. On September 18, 1947, Chief Justice Fred Vinson swore in Stuart Symington as the first secretary of the Air Force, officially founding a new branch of the U.S. military.
