ANNOUNCING A NEW OPPORTUNITY FOR WARBIRD OPERATORS

Lakeland, FL (March 9, 2023) - The Association of Professional Warbird Operators (APWO) is a cooperative membership that facilitates the development and sharing of best practices in training, safety, standardization, maintenance, and operations of Warbird aircraft.

They are building a consolidated community that will leverage collective resources to increase the knowledge, competency, and proficiency of Warbird operators, resulting in reducing risk to help ensure the survivability and sustainability of aircrews and aircraft. APWO is supported by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF), Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA), Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), North American Trainer Association (NATA), International Council of Air Shows (ICAS), and U.S. Congressman Sam Graves (R-MO), Chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and House General Aviation Caucus Co-Chair.

THE ASSOCIATION OF PROFESSIONAL WARBIRD OPERATORS (APWO) IS AN ORGANIZATION THAT SUPPORTS ALL WARBIRD-RELATED ACTIVITIES

This broad-ranging initiative is intended to provide valuable resources to Warbird owners, operators, individuals who fly for others, corporations, museums, airshow producers, air bosses, and virtually any entity that forms any component of the Warbird community. APWO has the full cooperation and support of the FAA, with ongoing dialogue and connections at the highest levels.

APWO’s focus is to promote professionalism that results in education, standardization, and safety methodologies that will reduce risk and help avoid unnecessary and irresponsibly formed regulations. APWO will be the standard-bearer of the Warbird community that consolidates the collective knowledge and experience of the industry into a single voice that can benefit and support any person or organization that operates or manages these treasured historic aircraft.
