TORA's Kate 310: From Hollywood to History
ONLINE From the silver screen to the skies above America's airshows, Kate 310 has spent decades captivating audiences and helping ensure Pearl Harbor's important history is never forgotten.
Originally built for the 1970 film Tora! Tora! Tora!, this flying replica of a Japanese Nakajima B5N torpedo bomber is one of just seven remaining from the movie. Acquired by the CAF in 1979, Kate 310 has become a familiar sight in the spectacular TORA! TORA! TORA! performance, helping audiences experience the sights and sounds of December 7, 1941.
Join us as Parker Rathbun and Taylor Stevenson, two of TORA's youngest pilots, share the fascinating history of Kate 310, what it's like to fly in this extraordinary aerial demonstration, and how they're following in their families' footsteps to carry on a tradition of living history.
We'll also explore what makes Kate 310 unique, the challenges of maintaining a Hollywood-built warbird, and plans to give the aircraft a historically accurate new look.
