Online Event (May 20, 2026)More than 6,000 Halifax bombers were built during World War II—but very few survived. Today, a dedicated team is working to change that. At the Bomber Command Museum of Canada, volunteers and experts are piecing together a Halifax from recovered wreckage and rare components sourced from across the world.

This story carries a deep American connection. More than 8,800 Americans flew in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II, and the majority flew the Halifax heavy bomber—making this aircraft’s legacy one that crosses borders and generations.

In this Warbird Tube episode, we take a closer look at the restoration effort, the people behind it, and why saving this aircraft matters—not just for aviation history, but for the memory of those who flew and never returned.
