CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow Honored with Veteran Business Community Champions Award
Houston, TX, November 15, 2024 —The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Wings Over Houston Airshow is proud to announce it has been awarded the Veteran Business Community Champions Award by the Houston Regional Veterans Chamber of Commerce. This recognition celebrates the Airshow’s dedication to supporting local veteran-owned businesses through initiatives like its Marketplace, which continues to grow and succeed each year.
The award was presented during a ceremony on November 6, and the CAF team is thrilled to be recognized for giving back to the veteran community. The Marketplace at the Airshow has become a vital platform for veteran entrepreneurs, providing them with opportunities to showcase their businesses to a diverse, global audience.
Record-Breaking Attendance and Global Reach
The 2024 CAF Wings Over Houston Airshow was a resounding success, with preliminary attendance numbers nearing 130,000 attendees over the weekend. Visitors came from 47 states and 39 countries, underscoring the Airshow’s reputation as a premier global event.
Supporting the Next Generation of Aviators
In addition to supporting veterans, the Airshow reinforced its commitment to inspiring future aviators. Twelve college students were awarded aviation scholarships, empowering them to pursue careers in aerospace and aviation. The Airshow also hosted the SECAS Youth Engagement program, sponsored by the Southeast Council of Airshows, providing young people with hands-on experiences and exposure to the world of aviation.
