Commemorative Air Force at the 2024 ICAS Convention: Celebrating Growth and Momentum
Las Vegas, NV (December 16, 2024) - The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) was a proud participant in the 2024 International Council of Air Shows (ICAS) convention, held December 9–12 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. This annual event serves as the premier gathering for the global airshow industry, bringing together performers, organizers, and exhibitors to collaborate, strategize, and celebrate the vibrant airshow community.
This year’s convention marked an impressive milestone, with attendance figures nearing record levels. Over 1,593 attendees represented 191 airshows across the United States, Canada, and beyond. The exhibit hall was bustling with activity, hosting 225 exhibitors in a sold-out space where business relationships were forged and plans for future airshows were solidified.
The CAF played a prominent role as a sponsor, kicking off the opening ceremonies with an impactful video that set the tone for the event. Numerous CAF Units were present, actively engaging with airshow organizers to finalize bookings for the 2025 season. The convention offered a dynamic platform for the CAF to showcase its mission of preserving and sharing the history of World War II aircraft through educational and engaging airshow performances.
With the airshow industry experiencing a resurgence, ICAS President John Cudahy described the energy at this year’s convention as unprecedented. “We’ve not seen a tone and a pace of business like this in many years,” he stated, reflecting the optimism for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
The convention reinforced the CAF’s pivotal role in the airshow community. From maintaining a strong presence at the ICAS convention to securing performance opportunities for its legendary fleet of warbirds, the CAF continues to inspire audiences and preserve the legacy of aviation history.
As the CAF and other ICAS members prepare for the upcoming airshow season, the spirit of collaboration and growth showcased at the 2024 convention promises an exciting year ahead. With the CAF’s ongoing commitment to honoring aviation history, 2025 is poised to be another remarkable chapter in the organization’s journey.
