Commemorative Air Force Partners with CORGI to Launch New Die-Cast Model Series Celebrating Historic Aircraft
Dallas, Texas (January 14, 2026) - The Commemorative Air Force® (CAF) is proud to announce a new multi-year partnership with CORGI®, one of the world’s most respected die-cast model manufacturers, to produce a series of highly detailed scale models inspired by iconic aircraft from the CAF fleet.
The partnership comes at a landmark moment for CORGI, as 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the release of the company’s very first die-cast model. As part of the anniversary celebration, CORGI is unveiling new tooling, programming, and partnerships across its Aviation Archive and Vanguards ranges—highlighting aviation heritage and craftsmanship at the highest level.
“This project has been in the works for some time, and we’re thrilled to finally announce it,” said Leah Block, Vice President of Marketing for the Commemorative Air Force. “CORGI’s reputation and commitment to accuracy make them a natural partner for the Commemorative Air Force. By working with CORGI, these models will allow us to extend our mission beyond the flightline and into the hands of collectors, educators, and aviation enthusiasts around the world.”

The collaboration was sparked by a chance encounter overseas. In 2025, while on the Navy to Victory tour in Europe with the CAF’s R4D Ready 4 Duty, longtime CAF member David Barrera was approached by representatives from CORGI who shared an interest in the aircraft and the organization behind it. A member of several CAF Units, Barrera became a strong advocate for the Commemorative Air Force, helping facilitate introductions between CORGI and CAF leadership.
Under the licensing agreement, CORGI, based in the U.K., is working closely with the Commemorative Air Force to create authentic, museum-quality die-cast replicas of select CAF aircraft. Each model is being meticulously researched to ensure historical accuracy, honoring the aircraft, the crews who flew them, and the legacy they represent.
Founded in 1957 with the purchase of a single aircraft, the Commemorative Air Force has grown into the world’s largest flying museum, maintaining a fleet of more than 180 historic military aircraft representing over 60 aircraft types. CAF aircraft fly regularly at airshows and educational events across the United States and internationally, preserving history by keeping it alive in the air.
CORGI, widely regarded as one of the most respected names in scale modeling, has spent months working alongside CAF historians and subject-matter experts to ensure every detail. From markings and finishes to configuration and era accuracy, each is faithfully represented in CORGI’s models.
Specific aircraft selections, scales, and release dates will be announced later this year.
Collectors and aviation enthusiasts are encouraged to stay tuned for upcoming announcements as this exciting new series takes flight.
