Floribama Wing Reps CAF in Queen’s Jubilee Celebration
Eglin AFB (May 27, 2022)- This year, Queen Elizabeth the Second, will be celebrating her 70 Year Platinum Anniversary as Head of State of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth. Her Majesty is a global icon whose 70-year tenure as Monarch is of historic importance.
The Australian, Canadian and UK Research Laboratory (ACURL) based at Eglin Air Force Base has a combined staff of over 100 service personnel. Working with our American allies and contractors ACURL develops the software for F-35 Joint Strike Fighter supporting the aircraft on operations and exercises throughout the world. As one of the major full-time detachments of Commonwealth service personnel in the United States, it is incumbent on us to mark this truly memorable occasion.
On May 27, 2022, the ACURL hosted a sunset parade at Eglin Armament Museum followed by a formal dining in night hosting by the Royal Air Force in celebration of the Queen’s Jubilee.
**Members of the Commemorative Air Force were asked to attend the Queen’s Jubilee Celebration as representatives of the organization and ambassadors of airpower history. This CAF Floribama Wing members administrated an eight ship fly over for this event. **
