Local 7th Grader joins honorary flight at MCAS Yuma

Yuma, Ariz. (March 13, 2025)- A middle school student had the extraordinary chance to honor her great-grandmother by taking a ride in a Commemorative Air Force (CAF) aircraft. Recently, at the Yuma Airshow, Ryan, a 7th grader, experienced the ride of a lifetime thanks to CAF Colonel and AT-6 Texan pilot Bob Markert. This flight held special significance for Ryan’s family—her great-grandmother was a Marine mechanic who worked on combat airplanes during World War II. The future thrives when we understand our origins and the people who paved the way for us.
