WWII Warbird Rides at Page Field Ft Myers

Ft Myers, FL (March 24,2026) – A WWII TBM Avenger torpedo bomber from the Capital Wing of the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) will be offering warbird rides for two days only at Page Field in Ft Myers, FL on Saturday and Sunday April 18 and 19. The airport is located at 5200 Captain Channing Page Drive in Ft Myers, less than five miles off I—78, convenient from Cape Coral, Port Charlotte, and Naples.

“We’re delighted to fly at one of the significant airports in Florida aviation history with roots going back 100 years when Page Field was on the airmail route between Tampa and Miami. The Capital Wing will be right at home with a WWII North American T-6 sitting out front of the terminal and a P-51 Mustang hanging from the ceiling”, said Pete Ballard, Capital Wing Warbird Rides Coordinator. “We’ll be offering warbirds rides in our TBM Avenger Torpedo bomber, the largest single-engine bomber of WWII. A warbird ride is a once in a lifetime experience. We tell people not to miss the opportunity when it comes around. Riding in the TBM Avenger engages all your senses: sight, sound, smell, and touch. You become a part of the warbird. You experience living history,” he said.

Warbird rides for the TBM Avenger may be purchased in advance at the Capital Wing website https://www.capitalwingcaf.org/warbird-rides. “We will be at Page Field for only two days and have a limited number of ride flights available so we encourage anyone who wants to ride our torpedo bomber Doris Mae to act quickly and purchase a flight in advance,” said Ballard. Flights not sold in advance will be available on a walk-up basis at the airport. “Very few warbirds fly two people at the same time in the same aircraft. Ours is one of them,” he said.

The CAF was founded to acquire, restore and preserve in flying condition, a complete collection of combat aircraft which were flown by all military services of the United States, and selected aircraft of other nations, for the education and enjoyment of present and future generations of Americans to perpetuate in the memory and in the hearts of all Americans the spirit in which these great planes were flown in the defense of our nation.
